On our first day, Wednesday, October 7th, we travel to Dubuque, IA, arriving mid-afternoon, allowing free time to explore the Downtown Dubuque area. We’ll overnight in Dubuque at the Grand Harbor Resort. Lodging guests also have free admittance to the enclosed waterpark, so bring your swimwear along! Grand Harbor Resort is located on the banks of the Mississippi River within walking distance of the Diamond Jo Casino, National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Stone Cliff Winery, and the Grand River Center. Also, we have rented some lanes at the Diamond Jo Casino Bowling Alley for the afternoon. It’s free for those who would like to join us. Bring socks for your rented shoes if you like.

Prairie Du Chien, WI to Dubuque, IA

On Thursday, October 8th, we will motorcoach to Prairie Du Chien, WI, where we’ll board the Celebration Belle. Joining the Captain and Crew of the Celebration Belle, we will enjoy a relaxing day of sailing as we cruise south on the Mighty Mississippi River from Prairie du Chien, WI to Dubuque, IA. Chefs will be preparing a full, hot lunch buffet and full prime rib dinner buffet. When we arrive at the dock in Dubuque, we’ll board our coach for the short ride to Galena, IL. We’ll check in at The Stoney Creek Inn for tonight’s lodging.

WELCOME TO GALENA

Galena, IL is a perfectly-preserved 19th century town, nestled in the Mississippi River Valley. Galena captures so many of the things that make small-town America special, in a way you're unlikely to find anywhere else. At its heart is the historic Main Street, with well-preserved 1850s-era brick buildings full of eclectic boutiques and eateries. No chain stores or cookie cutter outlets here. Galena is a place full of memory, and a place where your best vacation memories can be made.

On Friday morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then travel to the Downtown area of Galena. Activities later this morning include a Galena Trolley Tour. After an included lunch, you will have time to shop and browse the many stores on Main Street. Departing at 2:30 pm, we’ll make our way home, arriving in Quincy around 7:00 pm. Tour includes motorcoach transportation, lodging, Celebration Belle Cruise, Bowling Adventure, Trolley Tour, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 1 dinner

Reservations – RESERVATIONS SHOULD BE MADE THROUGH OUR OFFICE BY CALLING 217-228-8785 OR (TOLL FREE) 1-800-805-8766. If you are traveling with someone (whether it be a day trip or multiple day trip), please tell us at the time of your reservation, so we will be able to seat you together on the bus and at the event.

Payments – PAYMENTS SHOULD BE SENT TO GOODWIN TOURS, 819 OHIO ST, QUINCY, IL 62301. After reservations are made we will send a registration form, which should be completed and returned with your deposit within 14 days to confirm your registration.

Multiple Day Trips – Prices are per person, double occupancy. The single, triple, or quad price is available upon request. After reservations are made, we will send a registration form, which should be completed and returned with your deposit within 14 days to confirm your reservation. Please be sure to sign the form. On most tours, the balance is due no later than 60 days prior to departure. For tours that include airline tickets and/or cruise fares, we will inform you of the deposit due, the balance due date, and cancellation deadline at the time of registration. On multiple day tours, we rotate seats daily. Luggage handling is included on most overnight trips 2 nights or longer for one large bag per person. An itinerary, luggage tags, etc. will be mailed to you prior to departure.

Day Trips – Prices are per person. Full payment is due 60 days before departure. For some day trips, payment may be required sooner than 60 days out. Seating on the motorcoach and at events is based on date of receipt of payment. Seat tags will be put up on the motorcoach in payment order from front to back.

Motorcoaches – Motorcoaches are scheduled to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure with immediate boarding. All motorcoaches are strictly Non-Smoking. All motorcoaches are bathroom-equipped; however, we make stops often and ask that passengers use the facilities at these break stops.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Day Trips: There will be no refund for cancellations made within 60 days prior to departure, unless we have a wait list and are able to resell your seat. If that occurs, there will be a $20 administrative fee.

Multiple Day Trips: The following CANCELLATION FEES will apply: 61 days or more prior to departure: full refund less any non-refundable expenses; 60 days or less prior to departure: NO REFUND -- We recommend travel insurance. A Schedule of Insurance Coverage will be sent with each registration form. If you wish to purchase travel insurance, please call our office (not Travelex Insurance Services). Also, be sure to check your intention to purchase or not to purchase insurance and sign in the insurance section of the registration. This insurance information must be completely filled out and signed to process your registration.
